The Marvel Experience

Back in February I attended "The Marvel Experience" at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The experience toured again this summer and stopped in Philadelphia, Chicago, New York City, and St. Louis. Upcoming tour dates and locations are to be announced soon.
"S.H.I.E.L.D. has assembled Marvel’s Avengers to battle Red Skull and HYDRA and they need your help! Sign up as a S.H.I.E.L.D. Recruit at the world’s first ever Super Hero Recruitment Tour. Become part of this ‘all ages’ experience in the immersive, Domed attraction, as you learn about your favorite heroes and villains, all while sharpening your own super powers!"
If you are a fan of Marvel films, you should attend, if you are a fan of Marvel TV shows you should attend, if you are a fan of Marvel comics you should attend. If you are any kind of Marvel fan you should attend. It was unlike anything I had been to and it was a fantastic experience.

The experience is organized into three main domes, each with a different interaction. The first has interactive puzzles, info screens on characters, and physical games. My favorite was the Black Widow laser maze, beams of light created "trip lasers" that you had to avoid while you work yourself across the maze. It is the closest I will get to a "breaking into a top secret safe" action-movie sequence and I loved every minute of it.

The second is dome houses a "3D 360 degree Stereoscopic full-Dome projection theater" which gives you a set-up movie clip before you enter the final dome, that includes a theater/motion ride.

The staff fully embraced the experience, you are always addressed as an "Agent", and seemed to be enjoying the experience as much as I was. If you are a Marvel fan I absolutely recommend "The Marvel Experience".

Note: When I went it was the last week of the event, during the week, in the middle of the afternoon, and in February. Our group was very small so it made it very easy to see everything. On a weekend or during the summer it may be more difficult.
